Review highlights
Based on 294 reviewsThai Siam Noodle | Thonglor Bar | Kepong is widely praised for its authentic Thai flavors and a diverse menu that highlights traditional noodle dishes, tom yum variants, and flavorful street food staples. Customers appreciate the genuine Thai taste, supported by a Thai owner and staff, which adds to the restaurant's credibility. Signature dishes like creamy tom yum pork mama, boat noodles, and grilled pork skewers receive frequent mention for their rich, spicy, and well-balanced flavors, although some note preferences for slight adjustments in sweetness or presentation. Complementary beverages and Thai-style desserts, including a variety of roti options, are also popular. The venue’s unassuming setting, particularly the upstairs dining area, is often described as a hidden gem that enhances the overall dining experience.
Hidden gem alert! Don’t let the dodgy staircase fool you, upstairs is where the magic happens We ordered creamy tomyum pork mama, clear tomyum noodles. Both were spicy and addictive Lemongrass and longan drinks were refreshing, but not enough to put out the fire
I love this place, as a thai myself i come here often to satisfy my cravings for authentic thai street food. They serve simple yet delicious noodles, somtam and rice dishes as well as some small bites. Oh not to forget my favourite thai style roti for dessert comes in an assortment of flavours. Lady owner is originally from Thailand.
Tomyam noodles sourness and spiciness is just nice for my taste. The pork paste is quite a lot. However, it would be easier to eat and scoop the soup if served in a shallow bowl. Fried chicken wings are delicious
Authentic Thai restaurant with Thai servers and chefs, offering a taste that feels true to its roots. The creamy tom yum pork mama came generously topped with pork paste and king oyster mushrooms. While it tasted authentic, it leaned a bit too sweet for my liking. I would have preferred a sharper tang to balance the richness. The grilled pork skewer was juicy with a nicely charred BBQ aroma, and the Thai fried chicken was packed with flavour, crispy on the outside, tender and juicy within. The real standout was the Tom Yum fried rice. It had excellent wok hei and a balanced flavour profile: sweet, savoury, spicy, and tangy all in one. Generous portions of pork and chicken slices made it even more satisfying.
Visit on: 22 Sep 2024 Return this restaurant after it relocated, last time was nearby metro prima mrt station. Here still serves the best boat noodle and thai noodles. New menu like moo ping (pork skewer) juicy after bbq. The roti canai kind also crispy, I having with Nutella sauce so yummy. Thai milk tea is my favorite drink when visit Thailand /Hatyai.
This is another great Thai restaurant that isn't halal, but definitely worth a visit. They offer a variety of authentic Thai dishes, and I highly recommend trying their Thai-style noodles. Their noodles, especially the boat noodles, have an authentic taste and are priced affordably, making them a great value for the taste you get. While most of their menu is good, some dishes like krapow might not be completely authentic. As a Thai native, I've never seen krapow with mushrooms before, which makes it seem less authentic. However, the taste is still good, and the spiciness is just right for Thai flavors. Their beverages like Thai milk tea or red soda (แดงโซดา) also complement spicy food well and taste delicious. The staff here are very friendly, and the decorations create a chill atmosphere. One downside is that it's quite far from public transportation, but it's definitely worth making the trip to try their food!
On my epicurean adventure today. Discovered this by accident. Their Thai Street food is out of this world! So good it could easily rival any in Thailand! All the dishes were spectacular. 10 out of 10 in my book. Affordable too!
